Today marks 32 weeks, 6 weeks until we meet our little girl and I am so excited, nervous, slightly scared and everything in between! We are counting down the days and trying to make sure everything we need to have done. I haven’t packed my hospital bag and haven’t washed her clothes and now I am starting to freak out at all we have left to do. Does everyone feel this way? Or is it just me?

I feel like there are so many checklists over the internet and they are all so different that I actually don’t know where to start and I instead of finding them helpful I find it all overwhelming. So I wonder if anyone has advice on firstly what I should pack for myself and also for bubs for the hospital and secondly a general list for getting ready for the big day!

Hi everyone and welcome to my very first entry. I decided to begin “being called mum” as a way to hopefully meet people who like me are relatively young first time mums! So we can share stories, experiences and everything in between!

I am lucky in my surroundings and have a wonderful stable group of friends, majority whom are mothers and a family who not only answers any questions I may have but support every decision my husband and I make. However I thought it would be fun to find new friends and outlets which has led me here. I am 26 years old and currently I am 32 weeks pregnant. We are expecting a baby girl and she will be delivered via a C section on the 9th of July (More on the delivery option another time). My husband and I have been married for 18 months but together for 11.5 years. We always knew we wanted a family, granted not a large one, however lets see where life takes us.

I hope to hear from many of you who may be in the same situation as me, looking to be or experienced in the field of mothering!
